The Düsseldorf "Education for Sustainable Development" network deals with the management of environmental protection, respectively sustainable development in schools in the Düsseldorf region. In cooperation with companies, the City of Düsseldorf and further partners, the participating schools have started a permanent improvement cycle (environmental management, respectively sustainability management) to reduce negative impacts of school operations, to achieve financial savings, to facilitate sustainable investment, to improve the way in which knowledge and skills are imparted to students and to promote social and cultural coexistence in the One World. "Think globally, act locally" can be considered the defining motto of these schools. The Düsseldorf network maintains its own homepage with a wide variety of information and practical examples.
