Fourth to twelfth graders are developing a field guide which contains navigation, a guide to nature, an environmental rallye, an encyclopedia and a virtual guide. Hikes are developed step by step in cooperation with the students by carrying out an inspection of the area during which the students collect ideas, make video clips, take pictures, develop the hiking route and collect GPS data. In future workshops participants develop nature friendly installations and a "mobile nature room" at the Lochen youth hostel. Awareness building is the primary aim of these activities. Students learn a lot about the region they live in and the development of its cultural landscape.
